This week Swedish duo Niki and the Dove release debut album 'Instinct'. The album includes favourites; 'Mother Protect', 'The Fox' and 'Winter Heart', and is filled to the brim with the pop greatness that is expected from the Swedish. This is definitely a worthy purchase for the alternative pop fan.
They have featured on the BBC sound of 2012 list, and have been compared to Bat for Lashes, Oh Land and Ladyhawke. Although they’ve had these comparisons, Niki and the Dove reign victorious above them all, with their uplifting, intricate and sometimes experimental songs (they use a tapping water bottle for percussion on 'Gentle Roar'). I can guarantee you will be replaying this album throughout the year!
